Burning Man

All Burners know attending Burning Man can be a truly unforgettable experience, and using an RV can make it that much more enjoyable. Renting an RV for your Burning Man trip can provide you with a comfortable and convenient place to stay during the festival. Getting away from the 100 degree heat and cooling off inside your RV will make your experience that much better.

We are located in central California about 300 miles from Reno,Nevada. At RVShyft, we offer several RVs to choose from, ensuring that you’ll find the perfect one for you.  Many RV businesses do not allow their units to the event but we’ve made an exception with ours. Checkout some of the units we have available for Burning Man below.

Burning Man FAQs

How much fresh water do I need?

A majority of the RVs in our fleet carry a 55 gallon fresh water tank.  This usually last 2-3 days with moderate use.  There are fresh water trucks at Burning Man that refill RVers in need but you may have to reserve for this service in advance.  Although using cash is looked down upon at the event, one source said he was able to get fresh water refill in his RV only after handing the driver a generous tip.

Is a generator included?

Yes!  Our RVs have a built in generator to power up your unit and all the appliances inside the RV.

Will the AC keep me cool?

The AC unit will keep the interior 10-20 degrees below the outside temperatures.  The thermo covers provided with the rental will help keep the interior cooler. The AC runs on generator power which draws fuel from the RV gas tank.  The generator will shut off if less than ¼ tank remains. So you’ll have to ration or keep tabs on usage.

What if I have questions during the event?

Unfortunately, reception at Burning Man is little to non-existent.  It is very important you ask all the questions and be fully prepared for the event prior to leaving cell service.

What if we need to empty out the black and grey water tanks at the event?

Burning Man is a “Leave no trace” event.  All burners are responsible for disposing of all waste and trash. If you need to empty your tanks, sewage dump trucks do roam the area but finding one to provide service maybe difficult.

What if I need gas for my RV?

There are no gas stations inside Burning Man.  If you leave the event to get gas, you will not be permitted back in.  It is important to top off before entering the event.  A popular stop for gas before entering Burning Man is a small town a few miles away called Gerlach.  The wait to get gas is very long and sometimes they do run out of gas so plan accordingly

Do you deliver to the event?

We can deliver to Reno, NV pending driver availability for an extra fee.  If you pickup the RV in Fresno, there is no delivery charge and we’ll also include 1,000 free miles to the event (approx. 800 miles roundtrip from Fresno, CA).
